Reduced to a 3 car consist as used on Midline services in the late 1990s before withdrawal.

E.P. brake has failed on this unit, auto air brake in use following the failure. This results in a very different braking procedure.

One of two ex class 309 test EMUs converted for use by 'Railtrack' for cab signalling equipment testing, mainly on the former 'Old Dalby' Test Track. Also saw occasional use on the WCML.
